28th May 2016 – Forth 1 Girvan 1 (2-3 Pens)

Forth were knocked out of the Evening Times Champions Cup by Girvan on penalties at Kingshill Park this afternoon. A second half Kristopher Dick goal appeared to have been enough to see the Wanderers through until a 92nd minute Girvan equaliser took the game to a penalty shootout, which the visitors won 3-2. On a brighter note, the Central 2nd Division trophy was presented after the match, to bring the curtain down on a fine season for the Wanderers.

28th May 2016 – Dougie Bryce

In a lovely touch from the Wanderers committee, the parents of the late Dougie Bryce were presented with a league winners medal in memory of their son.
Taken from us at far too young an age, Dougie was a passionate supporter of both Forth Wanderers and Hibernian and would have been delighted to see the Forth win the league by 8 points and his beloved Hibees lift the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years.
RIP Dougie.

20th May 2016 – Forth 3 Royal Albert 2

The Wanderers finished their league campaign with a 3-2 victory over Royal Albert at Kingshill this evening. Second half goals from Barry McGeechan, with a tremendous individual effort, Kristopher Dick from the penalty spot and Jason Corbett, saw Forth finish with a remarkable 12 wins from their final 13 league games, a fantastic achievement at any level of football.
Yes, it was perhaps a bit flat at times and the penalty was a soft one, but what a season the players have given us and to win the league by 8 clear points is phenomenal. Take a bow each and every one !

8th May 2016 – Forth 1 East Kilbride 2

The Wanderers were knocked out of the Central League Cup losing 2-1 to East Kilbride Thistle at Kingshill yesterday. The visitors took an early lead through Adam Boyle and with EK keeper Christopher Treacy in inspired form, it took a penalty from Barry McGeechan with 10 minutes to go to level things up. Just as the tie looked to be heading to penalties, up popped Thistle substitute Craig Miles with a late winner to send them through to face Cumbernauld in the next round.

4th May 2016 – Forth 4 Lanark 1

The Wanderers are Champions !
Four goals from the irrepressible Wullie McLaren, taking his total to 25 in 25 games this season, saw the Wanderers win the Central 2nd Division at Kingshill tonight after a 4-1 victory over local rivals Lanark United. A large crowd saw the Wanderers crowned Champions for the first time since 1979-80 and undoubtedly the celebrations will last long into the night!
