30th April 2016 – Forth 2 East Kilbride 1

The Wanderers are promoted !
An injury time winner from Jason Corbett saw the Wanderers make it 10 wins from 11 and seal promotion to the Central 1st Division. Forth led at half time through a clever Wullie McLaren goal but the visitors pegged them back and it looked to be heading for a draw until that late, late winner. One win from our remaining two games against Lanark and Royal Albert will see the Wanderers promoted as Champions.

27th April 2016 – Newmains 1 Forth 2

A game of two halves and a game of two penalties as Forth overcame Newmains by 2 goals to 1 at Victoria Park this evening. One up at half time through a fine Willie McLaren strike, the Wanderers had also hit the woodwork three times in a half which they dominated. However, a rejuvenated Newmains were far stronger in the second period, Wanderers keeper David Cherrie saving an early penalty before they deservedly equalised through Colin Boylan. However, Forth are nothing if not resilient and a Kristopher Dick penalty with 6 minutes to go made it an impressive 9 victories out of 10 and means 3 points are required from the final 3 games for promotion and 6 for the title.

Up until then it had been a fairly even contest, with David Cherrie in the Forth goal having to make a couple of important early saves, but the Wanderers took full advantage of the extra man and ran out worthy winners.
