27th May 2017 – Rossvale 5 Forth Wanderers 1

Forth completed their league campaign with a 5-1 defeat to Rossvale at Petershill Park this afternoon. The Wanderers could consider themselves unlucky to be a goal down at the interval after a first half in which they created five great chances. The second half was a different matter however with Rossvale well on top and a Martin Hannaway goal was no more than a consolation for Forth.

21st May 2017 – Forth Wanderers 3 Benburb 4

The Wanderers were knocked out of the Central League Cup 4-3 by Benburb at Kingshill this afternoon.
Things looked bleak at the interval with Forth 3 down but a Wullie McLaren strike gave hope only for the Bens to make it 4-1 soon after. Late goals from Kris Jarvie and McLaren again set up an interesting last few minutes but the visitors held out and now face Lesmahagow in the next round.

17th May 2017 – Forth Wanderers 2 Wishaw 2

The Wanderers secured their Central 1st Division status with a 2-0 victory over Wishaw at Kingshill Park tonight. Second half goals from Wullie McLaren and David Dunn gave Forth a deserved victory on a night when there was no doubting the commitment of the men in red and indeed the scoreline could have been greater.

13th May 2017 – Benburb 2 Forth Wanderers 2

Forth drew 2-2 with Benburb at a wet New Tinto Park yesterday afternoon. Perhaps fortunate to be leading 2-0 at the interval after a fairly even first half, the Wanderers were pegged back by a strong Benburb second half performance which saw the hosts score twice to setup a nervy finale. The Forth goals were scored by Barry McGeechan and David Dunn. The Wanderers lost both McGeechan and Taylor Scott to first half injuries and a twisted knee means Barry will be out for the remaining games this season. One point from our final two matches, at home to Wishaw and away to Rossvale, is still required to ensure safety.

7th May 2017 – Thorniewood 3 Forth Wanderers 2

Forth lost 3-2 to Thorniewood United at Robertson Park yesterday in a close contest. Wullie McLaren equalised an early United goal only for the hosts to score again, making it 2-1. A Barry McGeechan penalty leveled things up just prior to the interval before Thorniewood once again nosed ahead on 68 minutes. The Wanderers finished the game strongly but were denied by some fine saves from the home keeper who ensured the points stayed in Viewpark.

3rd May 2017 – Johnstone Burgh 0 Forth Wanderers 2

A comfortable victory for the Wanderers at Keanie Park tonight, which could easily have been more, sees them progress to face Benburb at home in the next round of the Central League Cup. The goals came from Barry McGeechan in the first half and Alan Clark in the second.
