31st October 2015 – Cambuslang Rangers 3 Forth 5
A stunning second half performance from the Wanderers saw them reverse a 3-0 half-time deficit to win 5-3 in a game which will live long in the memory. In all honestly Cambuslang should have been out of sight at the interval scoring three and also hitting the woodwork twice but undoubtedly would have felt confident of picking up the 3 points regardless. However, whatever was said in the Forth dressing room at half time certainly paid dividends, with a fantastic second half performance orchestrated by the mercurial Willie McClaren. Goals from Barry McGeechan, Warren Grenfell, Taylor Scott and a double from that man McClaren sent a good sized travelling support home in celebratory mood.
24th October 2015 – Dundee Violet 7 Forth 1
The Wanderers exited the Scottish cup with a whimper yesterday, comprehensively losing 7-1 to Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park. The hosts scored early and had built up a 5-0 lead by half-time. Substitute Martin Hannaway pulled one back at 6-0 but then proceeded to miss a penalty on a day when little went right for the Wanderers. Craig Batchelor netted five of his sides goals as the Violet confirmed their place in the 3rd Round draw.
17th October 2015 – Forth 0 Port Glasgow 3
The Wanderers produced their poorest performance of the league campaign to date as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Port Glasgow at Kingshill this afternoon. Forth just couldn’t get into their stride against a Port side whose physical approach enraged the flummoxed Forth faithful at times. A double from Scott Nugent and another from Jamie McKenna gave the visitors a deserved victory in the end.
10th October 2015 – Forth 2 Cumbernauld 5
A much changed Wanderers lost 5-2 to Super First Division side Cumbernauld United at Kingshill this afternoon. Things looked bleak for Forth as the visitors raced into a 3-0 lead with half an hour gone but a determined fightback and goals from Declan Walker and Martin Hannaway pegged the score back to 3-2 at the interval. The Wanderers had chances to equalise in the second half but failed to take them and were duly punished when Cumbernauld snatched a fourth with 10 minutes to play. A final goal in the dying minutes gave the visitors a somewhat flattering margin of victory.
6th October 2015 – Dundee Violet in the Scottish Cup
The Wanderers have been drawn away to Dundee Violet in the 2nd Round of the Scottish Junior Cup. The game will be played at Glenesk Park on Saturday 24th October with a 2:30 pm kick off.
3rd October 2015 – Lanark 1 Forth 1
The Wanderers drew 1-1 with league leaders Lanark at Moor Park yesterday although it’s fair to say it was two points dropped rather than one gained. Forth dominated the first period and should have been at least three goals to the good at the interval, instead they only had a solitary Willie McClaren strike to show for their efforts. The hosts were much improved after the break and equalised just after the hour mark before the dismissal of McClaren late on led to a nervous end to the game for the Wanderers support.
1st October 2015 – David Grant
Everyone at the club would like to wish David ‘Dov’ Grant well as he takes up his new role as a coach with Wishaw Juniors and thank him for his efforts over 8 years at Kingshill Park. Dov is one of the gentlemen of Junior Football and will be assured of a warm welcome any time he returns with his new club.
