29th August 2015 – Perthshire 2 Forth 2

The Wanderers drew 2-2 with Glasgow Perthshire at Keppoch Park this afternoon in their opening league match of the season. New signing Craig Gupwell opened the scoring and, after Perthshire had equalised, Willie McClaren made it 2-1 at the interval. And so it stayed until 15 minutes from time, when the referee was seemingly the only one in attendance to see Lachlan Tait’s challenge as a penalty, from which the hosts duly equalised. Forth also hit the woodwork twice and can feel hard done by after a decent performance, although Perthshire could also claim with some justification to be the victims of a couple of contentious offside decisions.

23rd August 2015 – Forth 3 Lesmahagow 8

A bad day at the office for the Wanderers on Saturday as they were convincingly beaten 8-3 by a rampant Lesmahagow. The Wanderers goals came from Martin Hannaway and a Willie McClaren double. To make matters worse, keeper Paul McKane was taken to hospital during the first half and was kept in overnight. Everyone at the club wishes Paul a speedy recovery.

19th August 2015 – Forth 3 Royal Albert 2

A disappointing performance saw the Wanderers lose 3-1 to Lanark United at Moor Park tonight. Two down at the interval, Forth improved in the second half but only had an 82nd minute consolation from Willie McClaren to show for their efforts.

12th August 2015 – Larkhall 7 Forth 2

The Wanderers lost 7-2 to Larkhall Thistle at Gasworks Park this evening, the goals coming from an Alan Christie penalty and a screamer from Willie McClaren. Things looked decidedly different at the interval however, with Forth deservedly one up through a penalty on the stroke of half time after a half in which Willie McClaren also struck the bar with a free kick.
It was a different story after the break when the sky fell in on Forth, Larkhall notching three quick goals in the ten minutes after the break. McClaren pulled one back with the goal of the game but time and time again Thistle breached the Wanderers rearguard, leaving goalkeeper Paul McKane exposed and the hosts added another four to record an emphatic victory.

6th August 2015 – Supporters Trust

The club are re-activating the Supporters Trust for those willing and able to assist the club financially through a monthly standing order. The Trust account will now be run alongside the Football Club account. The Trust funds were a great help a couple of years back and invaluable in allowing us to run a bus to Port Glasgow and also in purchasing the smart new tracksuits for the players. All contributions, however small, are greatly appreciated by the club.

1st August 2015 – Livingston 1 Forth 1

Forth drew 1-1 away to Livingston United at Station Park this afternoon, Alan Christie netting his fourth pre-season goal on 88 minutes to level the match. The Wanderers began brightly only to see themselves fall a goal behind against the run of play after 18 minutes. Christie and Martin Hannaway both spurned good opportunities to equalise before the break. Forth dominated the second period, although Livi hit both the post and bar during the half, but only had Christie’s thunderbolt to show for their efforts come the final whistle.
