18th March 2017 – Lesmahagow 3 Forth Wanderers 4

The Wanderers claimed a vital 3 points at Craighead Park this afternoon when they defeated Lesmahagow 4-3 in an entertaining game.
David Cherrie saved an early Gow penalty before Warren Grenfell put the Wanderers ahead with a cool finish. However, the hosts came back to lead 2-1 until Taylor Scott scored to level things up at the interval. The Gow regained the lead and things looked bleak for Forth when they were reduced to 10 men after Stephen Tait was sent off for a last man challenge. Undaunted, the Wanderers produced a stirring finish and goals from Wullie McLaren and Kevin Bradley saw them take the 3 points back to Kingshill.

11th March 2017 – Forth Wanderers 0 St.Roch’s 2

The Wanderers lost 2-0 to the Candy Rock at Kingshill this afternoon, with goals after an hour and deep into injury time the difference between the sides. However the result doesn’t reflect the game itself in which Forth matched their title chasing opponents throughout, despite the inexplicable sending off of David Dunn after only 15 minutes. The Wanderers best chances fell to Craig Gupwell who headed over from close range in the first half and Kevin Bradley whose effort which was well saved in the second.
The game was preceded by a minutes applause for the late Bobby McDonald, hardcore Wanderers supporter and gateman – thanks to the Roch fans, management and players for joining in, much appreciated.
